The Beaded Purse Poetry Contest
Theme: Catching Dreams Bare-Handed

Poetry only!

Each winner will receive a very lovely beaded purse containing the following awards!

First place: $25

Second place $15

Third place $10

The judges may award Honorable Mentions.
Each purse is lovingly selected to satisfy your poetic persona.

Rules:

  • Please READ ALL the RULES!
  • Must work with the "Catching Dreams Bare-Handed" theme.
  • No hate language, racial slurs or inappropriate slang
  • Fee - FREE!
  • Up to three (3) submissions per person.
  • Each submission must be no longer than 60 lines max.
  • Single spaced
  • Original, unpublished work.
  • Deadline extended: November 1st, 2009
  • Entries may be submitted via the website using the form below
    OR you may email an entry directly to the judges at beadedpurse@hazelst.com in the body of the email
    OR email an MSWord or txt attachment.

    • DO NOT put any contact info or information about the author on your entry! This is reason for disqualification! Just the TITLE and your POEM! PLEASE! We want our judges to be impartial.
    • ON A SEPARATE (S-E-P-A-R-A-T-E) piece of paper type your name, address and phone/email address.
    • We need TWO means of contact with your entry. Sometimes emails change by the time the contest judging is completed so we require one additional contact.

  • Does it work with the theme?
  • Is it written well?
  • Does it move the reader?
